Seedless grapes are sweet, crisp table grapes bred from Vitis vinifera to have tiny, undeveloped seeds or none at all, making them convenient for snacking. They come in green (often called white), red, and black varieties, each with subtly different flavor and skin thickness, but all share juicy flesh and a refreshing bite. They are typically eaten fresh, but also work well frozen, lightly roasted, or pressed for juice.
Choose clusters with firm, plump berries attached to green, flexible stems. Store unwashed grapes in a breathable bag or container in the refrigerator and rinse just before eating. Nutritionally, they are mostly water with natural sugars, provide vitamin K and small amounts of vitamin C and B6, and contain polyphenols such as resveratrol in the skins. For young children, halve grapes lengthwise to reduce choking risk; freezing creates a sorbet-like snack.
