Banana and Peanut Butter Roll Ups

Instructions

1. Lay the flour tortillas flat on a clean work surface.

2. Spread about 2 tablespoons of peanut butter evenly over each tortilla, leaving a small 0.5-inch border around the edges.

3. Drizzle a light amount of honey over the peanut butter on each tortilla if using, then lightly sprinkle with ground cinnamon.

4. Cut each banana in half crosswise so you have 4 short pieces in total.

5. Place one banana piece along the edge of each tortilla closest to you.

6. Roll each tortilla up tightly around the banana, tucking the sides slightly as you go to help keep the filling inside.

7. Place each roll seam-side down and use a sharp knife to slice into bite-size rounds, about 1 inch thick, or leave whole as a handheld roll up.

8. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before serving.

Banana and Peanut Butter Roll Ups are a simple, kid-friendly snack that combines soft tortillas, creamy peanut butter, and sweet bananas into an easy-to-eat roll. The texture is a mix of tender wrap, smooth nut butter, and the slight bite of ripe but firm banana. A touch of honey and cinnamon adds warmth and extra sweetness without much effort. They are handheld, portable, and satisfying, making them ideal for lunch boxes, after-school snacks, or quick breakfasts on the go.

The dish is a modern, home-kitchen evolution of the classic American pairing of bananas and peanut butter, which became popular in the mid-20th century as both ingredients became household staples. As tortillas and wraps entered mainstream American cooking, the combination was naturally adapted into roll ups for convenience and portability. Today, banana and peanut butter roll ups appear in family cookbooks, nutrition guides, and school lunch ideas as a fun alternative to sandwiches. Their flexibility and minimal ingredients have helped them spread well beyond the United States, especially wherever tortillas and nut butters are common.
