Yogurt Parfait

Instructions

1. Rinse and gently pat dry the strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries; hull and slice the strawberries.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk the plain Greek yogurt with the honey and vanilla extract until smooth and lightly sweetened.

3. Divide the granola among 4 clear glasses or bowls, then add a layer of the yogurt mixture followed by some of the mixed fruit; repeat to create two layers.

4. Serve immediately so the granola stays crisp.

A yogurt parfait is a simple layered dish that balances creamy, tangy yogurt with juicy fresh fruit and crisp granola. The contrast of textures—silky yogurt, crunchy clusters, and tender berries—makes it satisfying without being heavy. It’s versatile enough for breakfast, a snack, or a light dessert, and it showcases fresh, seasonal produce beautifully.

While the word “parfait” comes from a French frozen dessert, the yogurt parfait as commonly known today is a distinctly American café and home-kitchen staple. It rose to prominence in the late 20th century alongside the popularity of yogurt and granola in the United States. Over time, it became a go-to assembly dish that emphasizes wholesome ingredients and straightforward preparation, with endless room for seasonal fruit and granola styles.
