Ingredients

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Bites

Instructions

1. Place the slices of soft sandwich bread on a cutting board in a single layer and remove the crusts with a sharp knife.

2. Working with one slice at a time, gently roll the bread with a rolling pin to flatten it to about 0.25 inch thick, taking care not to tear it.

3. Spread about 1 tablespoon of creamy peanut butter evenly over each slice of flattened bread, going almost to the edges.

4. Spread about 1 tablespoon of strawberry jam over the peanut butter on each slice, leaving a narrow 0.25 inch border along one long edge to help seal the roll.

5. Starting from the long edge opposite the border, roll each slice up tightly into a neat log, pressing gently along the seam to seal.

6. Using a sharp knife, trim the very ends of each log if uneven, then cut each log into 4 equal bite-size pieces using a gentle sawing motion.

7. Arrange the peanut butter and jelly sandwich bites cut-side up on a plate and serve immediately, or refrigerate in a covered container for up to 4 hours before serving.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Bites are a fun, miniature take on the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich, turning a familiar comfort food into tidy, poppable snacks. Soft bread is flattened, spread with creamy peanut butter and jam, then rolled and sliced into bite-sized rounds. The result is a soft, slightly chewy swirl of sweet and salty flavors, perfect for small hands, party platters, or quick after-school snacks. Their compact shape makes them easy to eat without much mess, while still delivering the nostalgic taste of a traditional PB&J.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches have been an American staple since the early 20th century, gaining popularity as peanut butter became widely available and sliced bread turned everyday sandwiches into quick, affordable meals. Over time, home cooks and parents began adapting the classic sandwich into more playful forms, such as roll-ups, pinwheels, and bite-sized pieces for lunchboxes and gatherings. Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Bites are part of this evolution, keeping the beloved flavor combination but presenting it in a more festive, sharable format. They reflect the way simple, pantry-based foods continue to be reinvented for convenience, presentation, and fun.
