Marionberry is a dark purple, glossy blackberry cultivar with plump, conical drupelets. It delivers a tart-sweet, winey flavor with juicy flesh that breaks down readily when cooked, suiting pies, jams, syrups, and sauces, and it blends well into smoothies and ice creams; commonly sold fresh in season or frozen and as puree.

Bred in Oregon from Olallie and Chehalem blackberries, it was named for Marion County and became emblematic of Pacific Northwest fruit-growing. It spread primarily through West Coast farms and processors, where most commercial cultivation and freezing occur.
