A clementine is a small, thin-skinned citrus fruit with bright orange peel and sweet, usually seedless segments. It peels easily, bursts with juicy flavor, and its aromatic zest lends lively citrus oils to dishes; common uses include snacking, salad segments, desserts, quick marmalades, and cocktails. Sold primarily whole (often in bags or boxes), it is also used for fresh juice and finely grated zest.

A hybrid of mandarin and sweet orange, it was selected in Algeria in the late 19th century and spread through Mediterranean citrus regions. Today major production comes from Spain, Morocco, and North American groves in California and Florida, where easy-peel types are harvested in winter.
