A milkshake is a creamy, frothy blend of ice cream and milk that delivers a cool, rich texture with clean dairy sweetness. The classic vanilla version tastes pure and nostalgic, with a soft aroma of vanilla and a silky, spoonable body that still sips through a straw. It’s refreshing yet indulgent, often crowned with whipped cream and a cherry for a soda-fountain finish.

Milkshakes emerged in the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, evolving from earlier “milk shakes” that sometimes included eggs or spirits. With the rise of soda fountains and diners, ice cream became the defining ingredient, and powered mixers made the drink quick to prepare to order. Today, the milkshake is an American icon, endlessly adaptable with syrups, fruit, and candies, but always rooted in the simple pairing of milk and ice cream.
