2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder – sifted if lumpy
0.5 cups plain yogurt
1 tablespoons honey
0.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
0.0625 teaspoons salt
0.5 cups ice cubes
Instructions
Slice the ripe bananas, place them in a single layer on a plate or tray, and freeze until firm, at least 2 hours or up to overnight.
Add the cold milk, plain yogurt, unsweetened cocoa powder, honey, vanilla extract, and salt to a blender.
Add the frozen banana slices and ice cubes to the blender on top of the liquid ingredients.
Blend on low speed to break up the bananas and ice, then increase to high and blend until completely smooth and creamy, 45–60 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness with a little more honey if desired, or add a splash of milk if it is too thick, blending briefly after each addition.
Pour the chocolate banana smoothie into two glasses and serve immediately while cold and thick.
