4 cups pineapple – peeled, cored, and cut into chunks
0.5 cup granulated sugar
6 cups water
ice – for serving
Instructions
Peel, core, and cut the pineapple into chunks, measuring 4 cups.
Add the pineapple chunks, granulated sugar, and 3 cups of the water to a blender. Blend on high until very smooth, 45–60 seconds.
Set a fine-mesh strainer over a large pitcher and pour in the blended mixture. Press with a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible; discard the remaining dry pulp.
Stir in the remaining 3 cups water until evenly combined. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled, about 1 hour.
Stir the agua de piña (natural separation is normal). Fill glasses with ice and pour the drink over the ice. Serve cold.
